Total Improvements came to complete some re-modelling of the downstairs of our house and from start to finish Wayne was a pleasure to deal with. He always made time to talk about the job and what was happening. The job was completed on time, to a high standard and without exceeding the estimates.

However the most important factors in dealing with Wayne were the small details. His team of workmen are all nice guys who work mostly with a smile on their faces and their interaction with the customer creates ease of mind and gives a feeling of confidence, important factors when strangers take over and make changes to a home. They cleaned up after themselves everyday. They were always willing to help and explain why they were doing things the way they were. All the little Hiccups that were encountered along the way in this type of work were resolved with the littlest of fuss and there was none of the “old builders wince” and “that’s gonna cost ya love”

Wayne and his team started the job and didn’t leave until it was finished, also another important factor. Wayne is a fixer not a moaner and has contacts for almost any facet of domestic upgrading and any guys he needed to pull in all met Wayne’s high standards in both the work and their interaction with us. His response to a desperate phone call “The paint is hanging off the ceiling in strips. What can we do?” was to say “Give me ten minutes “which was all it took for him to arrange for the ceiling to be artexed the next day. There was no problem, at any stage, to which he could not find a solution.

Even during the works we had a small problem with the water at 9pm on a Friday night – Wayne came out from home to fix it immediately with no fuss and still kept that annoyingly cheeky smile on his face!

All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending Wayne and his team at Total Improvements to anyone. Even as this is written, has he undertaken a job for one of my son’s friends.

We would like to thank you and your staff for the excellent service we received when you built a side extension on our property. We now have a brilliant kitchen/dinner, utility room and a shower room/toilet. We love the corner window in the kitchen which gives us loads on light.
You turned up on the day you promised to start our work, and it was completed on time, which was fantastic, even with the extra work we asked you to do for the blocked set parking area.
The work you have done is to a very high standard and considering most of the existing side wall of our house was removed, you kept the disruption and mess to a minimum.
We would not hesitate in recommending you and will definitely be using your services in the future.

We decided to change our home to give it the modern feel we loved and to gain extra space for our growing family, this turned out to be a huge job!
We recommended Total Home Improvements and within 24 hours of calling Wayne was in our home for an initial consultation. We had a final quote just a few days later which was thorough and reasonable. Wayne was very clear to show which items were not included this allowed us to budget accordingly and avoid nasty surprises.
Wayne and his team started the job a week early knowing we wanted the whole project finished by Christmas, we fully moved out of the house and his large team moved in. They made incredible progress on a daily basis this was because the team were committed to our build.
Wayne spoke to our neighbours and they have told me they were all very approachable and they felt reassured.
The build which included a loft conversion, bathroom & bedroom renovations and a downstairs extension & remodel took just under 7 weeks. All the work was good quality and we were consulted each step of the way. We are now back in our lovely house and as we write this it’s not even Christmas!
After watching many episodes of cowboy builders we were worried we would be left for years with unfinished work and a battle on our hands but Wayne and his team have restored out faith in builders.

When the start day arrived the Total Improvements team were there bang on time and eager to start work. This attitude continued throughout the project there were punctual, hard working and friendly. Although there was a great deal of disruption to our family home this was manage well and care was taken to keep this to a minimum. Wayne updated us daily on progress, on what was to follow and what to expect. He  consulted with us on our opinions and preferences and to take instructions. The whole team were always mindful and respectful of our home.

I am please to say the work was finished on time and to be a very good standard. We are all now enjoying our beautiful, larger, warmer, much brighter and more family friendly home.

They demolished the kitchen and built a new one also with extension of the back room.

They built a downstairs toilet off the hallway, utility room off the kitchen, a new bedroom above the kitchen and an en-suite shower room.

Wayne put us at ease right from the start as he went through every detail of the build, discussed any worries we may haveand how we would manage domestically while it was being done.

 Him and his team got on with the job, updated us at every step and were very organised and tidy.

We change our minds on a couple of things and this was not a problem and easily sorted for us.

The whole build from start to finish took five weeks.

 This firm of builders did everything they said they would do; from Wayne the boss to Gareth the Joiner they were pleasant, polite and courteous throughout all the building work they did for us. The first job they did was to relocate my sink and washing machine (a must for everyday living).

The extension to our house is fabulous and looks suburb, including all the little extra jobs they did for us. It was finished ahead of schedule and to a very high standard. The price quoted at the beginning of the work was the price we paid.

I would highly recommend this company to anyone and everyone and would like to say massive THANK YOU to Wayne and his workers for the excellent job they have done in extending our home. The cost of upgrading your existing house to a larger property usually costs more than a home extension would, so why move house to a new area, when an extension is a cost effective way of making the home you love have the space you need.

Extending the kitchen, master bedroom and family room are the most common room extensions. Those three rooms tend to be the most important to homeowners, because those are where they spend the majority of their time. If these rooms are on the outer edges of the house, it will be easier to knock down the existing wall and build a new one a few feet farther into the yard. You can use the same materials and colors that already exist in the room or add a completely different element by making the entire wall or windows instead. This is also a great opportunity to add a fireplace or other element to the room.

We got in touch with Wayne who came to visit us and discussed our needs.  Wayne gave us dates when the building work would start and sure enough the day the building work started (around 3rd March 2009) diggers turned up before we had even opened our curtains.  Wayne and his team worked qucikly and efficiently reasuring us at all times that everything would be ok and completed before our daugthers birthday (14th April 2009).

Wayne was great liaising with the neighbours and the children in our street and kept them informed when necessary to cause minimal disruption to them.
